Online retreat, November 6th to 7th, 2020
Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche together with the sangha of Danakosha Ling have practiced Tara for most of this year. As a culmination of this dedicated practice we will make a great offering of Zabtik Drolchok sadhana of Tara, a treasure revealed by Chokgyur Dechen Lingpa, on the Lha Bab Duchen festival. Everybody who wishes to participate in this two-day practice retreat is most welcome to join online in Zoom. The previously announced three days retreat has been shortened to two days.
This is Danakosha Ling’s biggest event this winter, as the annual Konchog Chidu Drubchod retreat has to be postponed to a later date. We wish to do a Konchog Chidu Drubchod retreat when the time is suitable, whenever that comes to be.
The text says about the benefits of the practice:
It pacifies every misdeed,
Overcomes every road to the lower realms,
And one soon receives empowerment
From seven million conquerors.
In this life, one achieves superior qualities,
And ultimately, reaches the state of the buddhas.
As well as:
One’s every wish will be fulfilled,
Obstacles will vanish and every problem will be overcome.
We have witnessed a very difficult year. We can see and hear many people really suffering with this pandemic. Because of that Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche together with the sangha of Danakosha Ling and many of his followers around the world have offered the prayer of Tara every evening since the beginning of the pandemic. As Tulku Dakpa Rinpoche reminds practitioners, the practice of impermanence is a crucially important practice. The current situation shows us the impermanence of everything, as the entire world is going through tremendous changes.
Renunciation and bodhichitta mind are key points of dharma practice. This pandemic also gives us good circumstances for developing renunciation and compassion. Rinpoche emphasizes that it is important for us to do two things: first, follow the advice of health authorities and to be careful of our conduct which protects ourselves and our dear ones in this pandemic, and second, to be brave instead of fearful, have acceptance of everything, and be relaxed. We should try our best to maintain our courage. This way we can survive physically and mentally, not only ourselves but also our close ones and globally. We all rely on the good virtue of the world, blessings of the three roots, as well as the support of science and medicine, and through these we will surely survive and eventually return to normal.
